Trigeminal Neuralgia Charities
Professor Joanna Zakrzewska has put a lot of effort into improving both patient support and the treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia ("TN") by founding and/or supporting voluntary organisations outside universities, the NHS and other medical services.
Trigeminal Neuralgia Assocation UK
In 1999, together with a patient, Joanna founded the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association UK ("TNA"). This is a very active patient support group today. For further details see its website tna.org.uk.

In 2022 Joanna co-founded the The Trigeminal Neuralgia Institute ("TNI"), registered charity number 1204273, with Ann Hayes and Simon Tate. TNI supports research projects. For further details see its website tninstitute.net .
